    • Laura presented "How to Reverse Engineer Your Novel" at Killer Nashville where she won the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Crime Scene Contest.  The scene was a compilation of two real cases handled by the TBI and Laura's investigation was chosen as the most thorough and correct.

    • Laura wrote and produced the Romance Writers of America's Awards Ceremony at their National Conference, held at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta. The ceremony featured Nora Roberts as the emcee and also awarded Susan Elizabeth Phillips the 2006 Lifetime Achivement Award.
